Mrs. Gould’s Philosophy

The Art Room provides a learning environment that allows students to feel safe. It is a stimulating and motivating environment where students can feel confident and secure in their abilities.

Opportunities to foster creativity, problem solving skills and exploration are given.  Students are exposed to different materials and techniques.  Students are provided exposure to a variety of media, including the new art medium, technology.

Learning about new technologies is important for students. I try to find effective ways of incorporating new technologies into the art curriculum.  Technology can enhance learning and offer exciting new educational possibilities when used in collaboration with not only art but with other classroom subjects.

Learning is accelerated when the different disciplines unite. I regularly incorporate reading, writing, science and math within the art curriculum.  Collaborating with other teachers is essential. 

It is my goal to provide an environment that fosters creativity and encourages the development of problem solving skills using a variety of media, including technology.
