Kind Kids Club Makes the News!

We are excited to share that students in our Kind Kids Club were interviewed for News Channel 13 and The Post Star for their incredible work this holiday season. These fourth-graders have been working hard to make placemats for the Fort Hudson Nursing Home. The placemats send holiday reminders like, "Happy Holidays" "Thinking of you" and "You are important."

The group of students were incredibly excited about this project and hope that the recipients of the placemats feel loved and special over the holidays.

Other great things that Kind Kids Club members do is making sure new students feel welcomed to the district. The club organizes a welcome to Fort Ann gift along with a permanent “buddy” who can help them throughout their elementary years. Aside from this, they also encourage kindness throughout the district in many different ways. They have made Board of Education appreciation gifts along with holiday notes of appreciation for staff. These students also know to look out for each other and report on peers that they notice who may need “pick me ups” and random acts of kindness. Members have rehearsed a kindness pledge each time they meet and know that they are set to a high standard and serve as leaders around school.

As an appreciation to their dedication to kindness, they have received T-Shirts made for them that they will wear around school on specially designated days. Thank you to K-12 Counselor, Ashley LaVine, and Elementary Principal, Michelle Discenza, for leading and working with such a wonderful group of students.
