Teachers Honored for Agriculture Education

Our teachers here at Fort Ann Central Schools are constantly working hard to improve curriculum and inspire students, and we love seeing their hard work recognized by the community.

Our teachers, Lynn Andrejkovics and Alanna Powers, were recently recognized at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Washington County Annual Meeting held in November. The Cornell Cooperative Extension Food & Fiber program brings agriculture education into the classrooms.

Each played a significant role in bringing the Food & Fiber program to their classrooms.
Both first-grade teachers were recognized in their work in leading Fort Ann Central School’s participation in Food & Fiber. They dedicated time to teaching students about pumpkins, apples, flowers, maple syrup, and growing vegetables. Last spring, the first grade grew vegetables and marigolds in pallet gardens and this year’s classes used those marigolds to print bookmarks!

Great work done by incredible Fort Ann teachers!
