Fort Ann sophomore Lily Degnan was chosen to attend the prestigious Hugh O’Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar held recently at SUNY Albany.
Through a series of workshops and discussions, the seminar aims to inspire young people and equip them with the tools to make a positive difference in their communities.
The students attended panel discussions with local business leaders. They also heard from HOBY alumni about how the seminar made them the leaders they are today, as well as the positive changes they have made in their community. Another part of the weekend was spent at the First Church of Albany packing over 260 food bags for their summer backpack program.
“It was truly the best experience. I am so grateful to have been a part of it!” said Lily.
