Who is your favorite/most influential FACS teacher/staff member and why?

Miss Morrison is the most influential FACS teacher and my favorite teacher. During my four years at Fort Ann, she has had the greatest impact on my life. While other teachers have also positively influenced me, Miss Morrison's classes have shown me how talented I am as a writer. English has always been my favorite subject, closely followed by science. It has also been my strongest subject because I've always loved writing. I enjoyed learning in her classroom and appreciated the environment she created. I especially valued her life advice, based on her own experiences in college and with saving money. Her jokes always made me smile, even on mornings when I felt like a zombie, moving through the day half-asleep. Miss Morrison consistently encourages her students to be the best versions of themselves, both inside and outside of school. She motivates us to improve with every essay and test, pushing us to reach higher. She has truly influenced and impacted my life in a very positive way, both academically and personally. She has taught me more than just English 10 and 11 literature—she has instilled important life traits like empathy and consideration for others.

Describe your best memory at Fort Ann

My best memory from Fort Ann is spending time with my friends and working on projects with them in class. I'll definitely miss being in Mr. Dobkowski's classes, which always manage to make me smile. I will miss playing soccer and softball with the Lady Cards. I will miss all the friends I made along the way, and having the opportunity to joke around with them and support them. I will miss my teachers who, throughout my years in Fort Ann, taught me beyond academics, sharing life lessons and giving advice.

What advice would you give younger students?

When a senior tells you "time flies by", they mean it. I didn't believe it at first, but being a senior now has shown me just how fast my high school years went. No matter how hard your classes get or how busy your life gets, focus on your education. You will never regret that high grade as much as you regret that barely passing grade.
