The Fort Ann Central School District is proud to announce that it has been named a School of Distinction by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). Schools qualify for the School of Distinction Award by having 100 percent of their varsity teams earn NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team recognition during their respective sports seasons.
“Being named a School of Distinction says so much about our students. They're working just as hard in the classroom as they do in their sport. We are very proud of each of them,” said Athletic Director, Jason Humiston.
This year, 110 schools in New York earned the School of Distinction Award. An additional 221 schools earned the School of Excellence Award, which recognizes schools which have 75 percent of their varsity teams achieve this same academic recognition.
The District will receive a commemorative award during an athletic director workshop this fall.
