Second graders spent a lot of time doing research on a woodland animal and worked very hard on their projects. They got to show them off to other students that came to walk around and learn about their animals. Great job!

April Fool’s Day Fun! Our elementary students decorated hallways and offices with a coloring page featuring Mrs. Wood and her cats! And Ms. Carey’s kindergartners made “brown-E’s” for Coach O! 😆🤣

🤩 Our seventh career exploration day brought Master Chimney Sweep Don Witters to our fourth graders! Mr. Witters brought a few tools he uses to clean and maintain chimneys and told a story of how he found a soccer ball stuck in a chimney! Thank you to Ms. LaVine for organizing this event!

Our first graders “rocked” the 120th day of school!

Our crochet club is getting “hooked” on a new hobby! 🧶

Welcome to the Fort Ann Library Cafe! As part of Read Across America week, our fourth and fifth graders got a little "taste" of a variety of books before choosing which one they wanted to read. They had a great time and now have some new books to check out!

📖📚 To help celebrate Read Across America Week, Mrs. Wood visited Mrs. Gordon's first graders and shared one of her favorite books, "Corduroy"!

During our sixth career exploration day, our fourth graders learned from Allison Vrooman, Paramedic, Queensbury EMS, and Town of Fort Ann Supervisor, Sam Hall. Mrs. Vrooman shared what it was like to work on an ambulance and brought the equipment she uses for the students to examine. Mr. Hall taught students about local government, and what a supervisor does on a daily basis. Thank you to Ms. LaVine for organizing this event!

Mrs. Mouton’s class is learning about budgeting, spending, and making change at their “store”! It’s a fun way to learn about currency and money management! 💵

After learning about weather and its effects on our daily lives, second graders brought storms to life by creating their own swirling bottle tornadoes!

Thank you to Deputy Des for keeping our students and school safe every day!

Healthy teeth are important! Sign-up your student for the Hudson Headwaters Health Network Healthy Smiles program! Children can get preventive dental care and education right at school. This year, our school has partnered with The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund! Each month, a retired Fort Ann teacher visits our kindergarten classrooms, reads a story to the class, and each student goes home with a book donated by the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund!
In addition to reading, retired Fort Ann teacher Karen Ballard has also been able to share her experiences and teach some lessons. Last month, she discussed her trip to California with the class and taught the students about different animals. This month, the students learned a Valentine's movement activity!
Thank you to the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund and Mrs. Ballard!
