Sixth graders just finished up a social studies unit on Ancient Egypt! They built pyramids, learned about the mummification process, and showed off their learning with a museum exhibit day!

Mrs. Soprano’s class learned about Inca suspension bridges and how advanced their engineering was! Then students designed and built their own mini suspension bridges using string and popsicle sticks. Results varied, but everyone agreed that bridge building is harder than it looks!

Chef Matthew Young, CTE Culinary Arts Teacher at WSWHE BOCES, and professional photographer, Erica Woodward, visited with our fourth graders for our fifth career exploration day! Chef Young spoke to our students about becoming chefs and brought chocolate chip cookies to teach some culinary terms and, of course, to eat! Mrs. Woodward gave the students hands-on photography lessons and let them take photos of each other! Thank you to Ms. LaVine for organizing this event!

Pajama-palooza starts next week!

Miss Moulton’s class has been doing a great job - participating during lessons, following directions, staying focused, and walking nicely in the hallway! To celebrate, Mrs. Wood came to class as a mystery reader and even played a game of 7-Up! Keep up the great work!

Help Fort Ann’s backpack program when you shop at the Hannaford at 3758 Burgoyne Avenue in Hudson Falls in February! A great bag and a great way to help! ❤️

Hieroglyphics name art from Mrs. Irish’s class! The students loved becoming ancient scribes for the day!

Our second graders connected their recent ELA unit on animals with their current lesson on helping the community through recycling, by making toilet paper rolls into bird feeders!

Now you can donate to the Fort Ann Backpack Program online! Every Friday that school is in session, a bag filled with non-perishable food items is sent home with participating students, free of charge to families. After reading and comparing many gingerbread stories this past week, Jingles, the classroom gingerbread friend, led our pre-k students on a gingerbread hunt around the school! When we returned to our classroom, he had left gingerbread cookies for us to decorate!
